Vamp Camp

UNRAVEL SEXUAL & BODILY SHAME WITH TRAUMA-INFORMED BURLESQUE & BELLY DANCE

3-Part Dance Class Series: February 1st - 15th, 2026

Hear first when tix go live!

Where burlesque meets nervous system regulation + resistance🔥

Dreamed up by a cranky somatic psychotherapist and a wayward burlesque/fire/belly dance fusion artist, Vamp Camp™ is the place where trauma repair meets liberation & wickedly fun movement.

We see body-attunement as the ultimate form of resistance.

Since trauma is stored in the body, it can impact our sexual function, ability to connect, and to know our boundaries, needs, & desires. With trauma — including colonization and patriarchal conditioning — we often feel shame + a sense of staying small, disappearing, or people-pleasing around our body instead of connection, passion, and freedom.

To make this work accessible and fun, we thought, “what if we blend somatic + nervous system healing skills with burlesque and bellydance..? And play with makeup, crafts, and ritual??”

So we did 😈

Because trauma healing isn’t all breathing skills.

At Vamp Camp™, our mission is to help folks unravel the sexual & bodily shame that comes from trauma, one bump ‘n’ grind at a time.

We’re relaxing the nervous system while snake-arming and belly-rolling.

Sometimes it’s a day retreat. Sometimes a dance class series. Maybe one day a midnight goth ball in an old cemetery…?

However we show up, we can’t wait to hip-circle our way to pleasure and liberation with you ❤️‍🔥

Hear first when tix go live!

Magdalene 3-Part Dance Class Series

Learn Burlesque & Belly Dance Fusion Choreography Under Our Body-Liberated Guide, Mary Magdalene

Sundays, February 1st - 15th

Hear first when tix go live!

We see Mary Magdalene as the ultimate Guide for autonomy and body liberation. Her texts — hidden from history by a domination-based religious regime — invite us into a knowing that no one has authority over us, spiritually or otherwise, and that connecting to our body is the ultimate process of resistance and discovering our truth.

The more connected we are to our bodies, the less controllable we are.

Our power is in knowing our bodies. What we like, what we don’t. What we need vs. what feels harmful. What turns us on vs. when we’ve had ENOUGH.

3-Part Dance Class Series

Unravel Sexual & Bodily Shame Through Nervous System Regulation Skills, Burlesque, and Belly Dance

Over three Sundays, we’ll gather in an intimate dance studio with the following format:

Somatic Grounding

Class will begin with polyvagal education + skills to help the nervous system come into a state of safety. Plus, Mary Magalene mythos chat and processing.

Movement

Next, we’ll dive into some juicy burlesque/belly dance technique & choreography to connect with the parts of ourselves wishing to be liberated.

Somatic Skills

Throughout class, we’ll be guided to gently pause to notice our bodily signals. This increases our capacity to be connected with our truth and inner wisdom.

Last Class BONUS

Our final class includes an extra HOUR of make-up & body adornment ritual, capped off with a final, intimate performance (just us!) of the full choreography!

What We Stand For

As practitioners of freeing bodies from trauma, embodied oppression, and bodily/sexual shame, we also stand for liberation and autonomy in all of its forms.

We make every effort within Vamp Camp™ to be anti-racist, anti-ableist, gender affirming, anti-purity culture, anti-fundamentalist, and vegan/cruelty-free. We strive to maintain a warm, welcoming, inclusive space for all bodies, sexual orientations, faith traditions, and cultural backgrounds.

We hold deep space for complexity, nuance, differences, and the relational process of rupture and repair, knowing that freeing ourselves from systems of oppression will not be clean or easy. However, any type of abusive, bullying, or oppressive behavior will never be tolerated at Vamp Camp™.

*A note on being vegan/cruelty-free: Including animal bodies in the fight for liberation is of the highest importance to us. We are currently replacing our inventory with cruelty-free options. Thank you for your patience as we make replacements.

Your Guides

Liá Miyamura | Wayward Pixie

Liá is an acclaimed burlesque dancer, fire artist, fusion belly dance performer and dance instructor, featured in Rainbow Room Review 2024 at the legendary Skull’s Rainbow Room, and member of the local performance troupe, Pyroglyphics.

Liá grew up in the enchanted place where the redwoods meet the ocean. Her passion for travel has allowed her to learn from and connect with many different cultures and communities, learning how integral these connections are to her art. Community is a priority. Coming from a background of being slut shamed and feeling small, her passion is sharing the way dance and burlesque have helped her feel more empowered and able to let go of shame and guilt.

Liá loves travel, festivals, Burning Man, food, fashion (especially vintage), makeup, making costumes, and anything art-related. She’s been playing dress-up since childhood, and now gets paid for it 👠 She’s very inspired by film and television, especially sci-fi and fantasy. She’s toured with big top circus, Flynn Creek Circus (human only!)

Favorite shows + films include Star Wars, Hunger Games, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Elizabeth DeVaughn, LPC-MHSP

Elizabeth (or Liz) is a licensed psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and complex trauma + relationship and attachment specialist, practicing on S’atsoyaha (Yuchi) land, colonized as Nashville, TN.

Liz has been a practicing psychotherapist for 13 years, primarily working with clients recovering from domestic violence, high-control religion, and who wish to create secure relationship & attachment patterns based in safety and reciprocity. Having her own story of oppressive relationships + having difficulty forming bonds that don’t involve hiding and chameleon-ing, this work has deep roots for her.

Liz has advanced training in Somatic Experiencing®, EMDR, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. Her hot-button mission is helping heal the root cause of relationship patterns based in trauma and oppression; her business, Rose, Raven & Roar™, aims to address this from both micro and macro lenses, blending somatic + attachment science, activism, history and education around colonization, nature-based practices, and ecofeminist + cultural spiritual practices. Practically, this looks like everything from psychotherapy to somatic-centered book clubs to witches tea parties 🫖

One of Liz’s greatest joys rn is building Vamp Camp™ with Liá. Blending nervous system healing with liberated, fun, sensual movement makes too much sense; most days, you can find them giggling and dreaming through voice notes about the next creative Vamp Camp venture.

Favorite things include hiking alone or with her bestie (adult friendships have been hard, so this is special), dancing, crafting & art, spending hours strolling outside alone or with her soul partner kitty, Ms. Truly, and drinking morning coffee with her artistic, hilarious husband of 14 years. HSP, Enneagram 3, highly sensitive and introverted, sarcasm and dark humor as a love language. Interabled and vegan, holding a candle 🕯️for her dream of an animal sanctuary and trauma healing facility for abuse and oppressive violence.

Favorite shows: Schitt’s Creek, Golden Girls, True Blood, Cobra Kai, Dexter
